Outdoor Sculpture Planning Begins

This is super exciting news, friends: We are commissioning a set of outdoor sculptures for the Inn on Mill Creek! Guests will be able to get up close to the large sculptures, which will be inspired by nature (fitting for our location inside Pisgah National Forest).

Sam Owen, one of our guests and a local artist and friend of the Inn, is a bronze caster and metallurgist. You can see his work in Brevard at the art hub known as Brevard Lumberyard, as well as in downtown Asheville, where he has done metal sculptures for the Asheville Urban Walking Trail.

Sam’s abstract sculptures will be part of a new garden space, which will actually be a landscaped garden path between the Deck House arbor and the walking labyrinth.

The path will start near here…

…and end here, at the walking labyrinth

We’ll be using native shrubs and plants along the path, as well as trees and grasses. We can’t wait to show you the progress as the project ramps up later this year!
