Lake View Room and the North Terrace Room in the Main House
have DirecTV plus DVR, and a DVD/VCR player. The remainder of the Main
House guest rooms ( Creekside Hideaway and
Orchard Room) have DVD/VCR only, as indicated above. We have a collection of
movies, and please feel free to bring your favorite movies
from home to watch in your room. Additionally, all Inn guests are
welcome to relax in our Great Room and enjoy the 9' x 5' image HD Projection
TV, which has full satellite channels and DVD/VCR. Come be the next guests to marvel
at the huge crisp image and say "Wow,
we've gotta get us one of these."

We've
been adding new HD TV's and DVR's to some of the rooms. If you would like us to set up
a show to record
ahead of time on your room's DVR before your arrival, just
let us know.

Two
Main House rooms, the
North Terrace Room and the Orchard Room, welcome guest pets. The
guest pet rate is $15 for the first night and
$10 per night thereafter (with a $10 per night fee for
additional pets).

The Lake House
is located just across the garden from the Main House and
has a deck running along our little lake for Lake House
guests.

NIGHT STAYS:
Generally
a two-night minimum stay is required, but we do consider single-night bookings
in our quiet season (December-April), beginning one week in advance as our schedule permits. Single-night bookings must be made by
phone and are not eligible for discounts. TAXES:
North Carolina
state and county sales taxes (6.75%), and McDowell County room
tax (5.0%) total 11.75%.
AMENITIES
ON REQUEST: We have a variety
of items available
for guest use on request outside of our standard amenities, such as
wine glasses and openers, outdoor gas grill, large pet crate,
iron/ironing board, Pack-n-Play and portable shower seat. We also have a wide variety of board games and movies.
If there is something else you'd like to see available for guest
use, just let us know.
MOVIE
AND BOOK LIBRARY: Brigette
has expanded the DVD and VHS collection
(hooray for eBay and Craiglist!). We have more than a hundred popular and
classic titles now. These can be enjoyed in the privacy of your
room, or on our projection TV (9' x 5', HD -- awesome!) in the Great Room. Brigette has been
working to expand our nice library/book collection as well.

Frequently
chosen for romantic getaways, our
largest room (600 sq. feet), located on the top floor
of the Main House, has full-length windows gracing the
entire south wall for expansive outdoor views of the
forest, our peaceful little lake, and the dam
built by the Southern Railway Company in 1885 to create
the water source for the Andrews
Geyser two miles
away. The
Lake View room features
a 14' peak rough-hewn cedar ceiling, a king bed,
one-touch gas fireplace and large cedar closet. The room
has HD satellite TV with DVR, and a DVD/VCR player.
Additionally,
the Lake View room
has a
private screened porch, perfect for taking in the forest
sights and sounds in the early morning or evening. The large bathroom has a
vanity area with a double-sink, skylight, steam shower/jetted tub
combo, a separate stall shower, and a bidet. New
in 2010: We've updated the room with a new 32" HD
TV (hidden away in the armoire).

the view has Pisgah National Forest's Bernard Ridge as a backdrop.

This large (530 sq.
ft.), bright and
cheerful room located
on the top floor of the Main House is perfect for couples, moms
and daughters or single friends traveling together. It has a
queen bed and pull out queen-size sleeper sofa. Additionally,
there is a DVD/VCR player. Windows on three sides of the bedroom
allow for great views of the woods surrounding the Inn. We
encourage guests to open the windows to hear the sounds of the
creek below in the mornings.
The Creekside
Hideaway room's gorgeous cedar
bathroom with skylight provides a wonderful touch to the room
and features a Jacuzzi tub, separate shower with a custom teak
mat, and double
sinks.

The quiet comfort
and coziness of the Orchard Room, located downstairs on the lower level of the Main House, is
great for solo travelers and
budget-minded guests. The views of the orchard are eye-catching in
the Spring, Summer and Fall seasons.
The room features a queen bed and private bath
with stall shower. There is a DVD/VCR player as well.
Comfy but by no means
cramped (275 sq. ft.), the Orchard Room is pet
friendly; the room is accessible through the
house and also via an exterior entrance down a flight of
stairs near the Solarium and it shares no
common walls with any other guest rooms.
