centrally; in-room gas fireplaces are controlled by the guests staying

Our water is natural mountain-spring
water, double-filtered and softened; not municipal, and
contains no chlorine. It tastes great, and makes
our Jacuzzi tubs extra-relaxing.

Rooms
in the Main House do not (yet) have Satellite (broadcast)
TV. They have DVD/VCR only, as indicated. We do have
an extensive collection of movies, and all guests are
welcome to our Great Room to enjoy the 9' x 5' image HD Projection TV. Come be the next guests to marvel and say "Oh,
we've gotta get one of these."

Generally
a two-night minimum stay is required. We consider single-night bookings a) when we have fewer than 4 rooms
already reserved, and b) within 5 days of arrival (e.g., starting
Monday for a Friday or Saturday-night stay). This helps keep check-in/check-out
traffic to a minimum for our guests who are staying longer with the intent of enjoying the peace and quiet of our
surroundings. Single-night bookings must be made by phone.
North Carolina
state and county sales taxes (6.75%), and McDowell County room
tax (5.0%) currently total 11.75%.
We have a variety
of items available
for guest use on request, such as a Pack-n-Play, portable shower seat,
ironing board/iron, large pet crate, outdoor gas grill, S'mores maker, fondue
set and wine glasses. We also have a wide variety of board games and movies.
If there is something else you'd like to see available for guest
use, just let us know. Brigette
has recently greatly expanded our Video and DVD collection
(hooray for e-bay). We have more than a hundred popular and
classic titles now. These can be enjoyed in the privacy of your
room, or on our
new projection TV in the Great Room. Brigette has been
expanding our library/book collection as well.

Our
largest room (600 sq. feet), located on the top floor
of the Main House, has full-length windows gracing the
entire south wall for expansive outdoor views of the
forest, our peaceful lake, and the waterfall that spills
over the dam. The
Lake View features
a 14' peak rough-hewn cedar ceiling, a king bed,
one-touch gas fireplace, double cedar closet. It also
has a
private screened porch, perfect for taking in the forest
sights and sounds in the early morning or evening. The large bathroom has a double
sink vanity area, skylight, bidet, steam shower/jacuzzi tub
combo, plus a separate stall shower. The Lake View is a

the Maple Tree has access to a full
kitchen for guests staying in the Lake House, and its own
sliding door to the deck that overlooks the Inn's serene mountain lake.

pleasant view of the forest on north end of the property as well
as the Inn's fruit

room with a huge step-up jetted hot tub for unwinding after the
day's adventures.
The North Terrace is
pet friendly;
it has a private entrance and shares no common walls with any
other guest rooms. It also has a queen-sized futon couch which can
be folded down for an additional guest.

on the top floor of the Main House is perfect for couples, moms
and daughters or single friends traveling together. It has a
queen bed and pull out queen-size sleeper sofa. Additionally,
there is a TV/VCR unit. Windows on three sides of the bedroom
allow for great views of the woods surrounding the Inn. We
encourage guests to open the windows to hear the sounds of the
creek below in the mornings.
The room's gorgeously-scented cedar lined
bathroom with skylight provides a wonderful touch to the room
and features a Jacuzzi tub, separate shower, and double
sinks.

budget-minded guests. The views of the orchard are eye-catching in
the Spring, Summer and Fall seasons.

Cozy but by no means
cramped (276 sq. ft.), the Orchard Room is pet
friendly; the room is accessible through the
house and also via an exterior entrance down a flight of
stairs near the Solarium and it shares no
common walls with any other guest rooms.
